Keep your teeth and gums healthy by scheduling your oral hygiene appointment a minimum of two times per year. Dental hygiene treatment includes a teeth cleaning, removing harmful tartar and plaque build-up from your teeth, assessing the health and condition of your gums, treating gingivitis and other serious periodontal (gum) disease issues, checking your teeth for oral decay, and educating you about your dental health and related hygiene.
Your dental hygienist is a registered and licensed professional (RDH). They work hand-in-hand with your dentist to treat and improve you and your family's oral health.
Dental hygiene training is extensive. Be assured that your hygienist has been properly educated, has passed a rigorous examination, and has been certified to assist your dentist with the health of your teeth and gums.
Your dental hygienist provides a series of key treatments. Expect the following routine services during your hygiene appointment:
